Ellen consulted to Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo, Brazil, on long-range
strategic planning, resulting in a comprehensive, innovative plan for the institution,
in collaboration with the Dean of Tufts Medical School, Harris A. Berman, M.D.

Ellen worked with a university-wide Presidential Task Force at the University of Michigan to
develop programs designed to improve the health of the university community, including
the highly successful MHealthy program.

Ellen worked with USAID, the Ministry of Health,
community leaders,
and the leadership of JFK Hospital
in Monrovia, Liberia, to develop a strategic plan under
the auspices of ABT Associates Health Systems 20/20.

In 2006-2007 Ellen consulted to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
on strategic planning and market analysis related to their major
new outpatient facility. She designed an innovative methodology
for forecasting outpatient demand for oncologic services, which
Goldman Sachs used in its bond prospectus.

She was Vice President, Product
Development, and Vice President,
Medicare Programs at Harvard
Pilgrim Health Care, where she
worked for about twenty years. Her

Project at Neighborhood
Health Plan, an NCQA
accredited, not-for-profit
health plan affiliated with
Partners HealthCare System
and serving commercial and
Medicaid members in MA.

Ellen serves on the Fundraising Advisory Council
of Lifebox, a nonprofit led by Atul Gawande, M.D.,
an endocrine surgeon at Brigham and Women’s
Hospital in Boston, a New Yorker writer, and author of
Being Mortal, The Checklist Manifesto, and Complications.
